SB3 is a Texas bill that would ban most hemp-derived THC products, including popular items like THCa flower, full spectrum CBD, Delta-8, and all vapes. It passed the House on May 21, 2025, after a last-minute amendment reinstated the full ban. SB3 would: ● Criminalize possession of any THC-containing hemp product, punishable by up to one year in jail. ● Impose felony charges for manufacturing or selling these products, with penalties of 2 to 10 years in prison. These penalties are harsher than those for small amounts of marijuana in Texas, which carry up to 180 days in jail. This bill would turn hundreds of thousands of us into criminals overnight.
On May 21, 2025, SB3 passed the Texas House. While hemp groups worked hard to amend the bill, a last-minute change turned it back into a full ban—and it was pushed through. Now, the bill is on Governor Abbott’s desk, and he can sign it any day. But this fight isn’t over. Bills have been stopped at this stage in other states—and we can stop this one too.
